In spite of all the planning, the lists, the check lists, the check check lists … weddings are usually a hectic day. A series of appointments, requirements and countless conversations with guests. Over and above all the hub bub and gaiety are the photographs – the professional photographer – the guests and their cameras – and these days even the Bride and Groom with the ever present camera phones. I love weddings – I love the preparation, I love the hustle and bustle and I really love when you find those hidden moments – the few minutes of calm in the storm. In March I was attending a wedding of an old, revered friend. The Groom. I loved watching that ceremony – formally announcing to all friends and loved ones that he had chosen his partner to stand beside him for the rest of his life. Even better – I couldn’t have found a better woman for him to choose. This particular photo was taken in one of those few minutes of serenity – between the signing of the marriage certificate and rushing off to get professional photo’s done and begin the reception.
Even in just a picture of their hands I think you can actually see that small *sigh* of relief that it was ‘done’ – they were together.
